Giving Thanks and Giving Back

November 23, 2017

A very happy Thanksgiving from everyone at Eastern Market Main Street. We wanted to thank you for following along with all of our happenings this year - we wouldn't be here without the business and building owners, community members, and stakeholders who believe in EMMS' mission.

We hope that you have a few moments in this day of thanks before the flurry of holiday activity… there’s nothing quite like it! In the midst of all the hustle and bustle, it’s also good to take a moment and reflect on organizations working in your community – and that’s where #GivingTuesday comes in.

#GivingTuesday is an international day of giving after the busiest shopping days of the year (Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday). Going in to our second year, Eastern Market Main Street has ambitious plans for the corridor and we need your help to raise $1,500 in 24 hours. Help us make a tangible difference!

Mark your calendar for #GivingTuesday on November 28, 2017.

About #GivingTuesday:  #GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. This year, #GivingTuesday falls on November 28. #GivingTuesday harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of partners to transform how people think about, talk about, and participate in the giving season. It inspires people to take collective action to improve their communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they believe in, and help create a better world. #GivingTuesday demonstrates how every act of generosity counts, and that they mean even more when we give together.
